CONFIGURE FOR GTE CHARTING

     
GTE Charting and GTE Toolbox are programs owned by Guppytraders-Essentials Pty Ltd. They use data from Bodhi5's MetaStock format.
Installing GTE Software
  1. After downloading the GTE Software, execute the GTE_Download.exe file or the GTE_Toolbox.exe file.
  2. Click Next at the Welcome screen.

  3. Read the License Agreement, select the I accept the agreement option then click Next.

  4. Click Next to install it to the default directory (c:\Program Files\GTE\GTE Charting 3.0 or c:\Program Files\GTE\GTE Toolbox 3.0)

  5. Click Next to add a GTE 3.0 folder to your Windows® Start Menu.

  6. Select the Create a desktop icon option then click Next.

  7. Click the Install button.

    The software will install onto your hard drive.

  8. Put a tick in the Launch GTE Charting box, then click Finish.

  9. GTE Charting or GTE Toolbox will now open.

Configuring Bodhi5 to use the MetaStock data format
  1. Install Bodhi5 using the installation instructions.
  2. Once installed, launch Bodhi5. If this didn't happen automatically when you finished installation double-click the Bodhi5 icon on your desktop or select it from your Windows® Start menu. Windows® 7 or above = Start ➔ Infosoft ➔ Freeway

  3. A Confirm box will appear asking you to connect to the Internet to finish the installation. This process requires downloading files from the Internet. Make sure you are connected to the Internet then click the Yes button.

    If a box appears asking you to use previous Bodhi settings, then refer to the tutorial: Configure BodhiGold 5 using my Bodhi settings.

  4. Select your closest Country from the drop-down box, then click [x].

  5. Select your Nearest city from the drop-down box, then click [x].

  6. Select GTE Charting or GTE Toolbox and any other formats you require from the list of analysis software, then click [x]. By selecting GTE Charting or GTE Toolbox, Bodhi5 will automatically choose the MetaStock format.

  7. Bodhi5 will now download product lists required to finish the installation.

  8. Initialisation is now completed. Click the OK button to shut down Bodhi5 then restart the software.

  9. The registration screen will appear, telling you how many days you have left to trial the software.

    1. To continue with the trial, click the No button. The software will give you access to the Exchange data nearest your location for the remainder of your trial period. If you requested access to other Exchange data you will need to register Bodhi5 for your trial period.
      The Confirm registration box will appear each time you open Bodhi5 (until it is registered).
    2. If you have purchased the software, email or telephone (+61 7 3821 5177) JustData with the Installation Code. You will then be given your personalised Registration Code. Click Yes to this message then enter your code into the box provided and click the OK button.

  10. Click the Configure button.

  11. The following instructions will show you how to fetch up to 6-months historical data:
    1. Right-click on the Finance tab and select Reset then Received from the menu.

    2. The Received box will be displayed. The date should automatically be set to 6-months ago.

    3. Click the [OK] button.
  12. Exit the Configuration screen by clicking the [x] button.
  13. Connect to the Internet then click the Catchup button. Bodhi5 will now download and export the last 6-months of data to your hard drive.

Congratulations, you have successfully configured Bodhi5 and imported 6-months of data into a MetaStock format (c:\Data\MetaStock\ASX0 directory). From now on, you will only need to press the Catchup button in Bodhi5 each night to retrieve the latest data. The free trial will run for 30-days after installation.

Configuring GTE to read the Bodhi5 MetaStock directories
  1. To configure GTE you need to know whether the MetaStock format you are using is configured to 255 files per directory or 2000 files per directory (Bodhi5 uses 2000 files). GTE's default setting is 255 files per directory. To ensure GTE has access to all your data please follow these directions:
    1. Open GTE Charting or GTE Toolbox.
    2. Go to File then Preferences.

    4. Put a tick in the Use MSFL651 Data Access box then click the Save button.

  2. Click on File then Open Chart then select a chart type (eg. Bar Chart).

  3. Click on the MetaStock Files tab. Under Folders navigate to your data directory/s.
    1. Start by double-clicking on the c:\
    2. Then double-click on Data.
    3. Then double-click on MetaStock.
    4. Double-click on one exchange you would use most often (eg. ASX0).

    5. To the right of the Folders window click on the Set as the Default Folder button.
    6. Click the OK button to set the directory as default.

      The next time you open GTE Charting the Data File Manager window will display your chosen exchange directory.

    7. Double-click on the exchange. The company codes and names will be displayed on the right screen (if you have loaded Historical data).
    8. Double-click on a symbol under Available Data files or enter the symbol in the Find box and click Open Security.

  4. The chart will now open. Refer to the the GTE Charting documentation for help using the software. This can be found by choosing Assist then GTE Documentation from the menu.
