These videos and picture tutorials will show you how to correctly set up and get the most out of the Bodhi5 software.

CREATE CATCHUP JOBS

When you click the Catchup button in Bodhi5 it automatically imports and exports all the data for all the Exchanges you have access to (turned on). If you only download one Exchange this function is quite adequate however, if you download multiple Exchanges you may want to create some Catchup Jobs.

Creating Catchup Jobs
Catchup Jobs allow you to select only the data you want imported and exported in that session making sure you don't waste valuable time downloading data that you are not interested in at that moment.

This becomes useful in the following situations:
  • If you are an ASX Intraday data client that wants to only download the ASX Equity & Indexes each hour without downloading the other data you subscribe to. [more info]
  • If you download data from different Exchanges or Market groups that are available at different times of the day. [more info]
  • If you want to download some of the information weekly instead of downloading it every day. [more info]

Creating Catchup Jobs is quite simple and once configured can be controlled by a drop-down box located between the Catchup and Configure button. This drop-down box is invisible until you create a Job. Once a Job is created the drop-down box will appear giving you the choice of the job/s you created and a default job called: Everything. If the Everything job is activated, Bodhi5 will download everything you have selected in Bodhi5.

Creating a Job to download ASX Equity & Indexes
ASX intraday clients who download hourly to check the market prices require a fast catchup that only updates the information they require now. Normally, if they clicked the Catchup button Bodhi5 would import & export the entire ASX as well as any other Exchanges they download.
In this example we are going to create a Job that will only download the ASX Equities and Indexes.
  1. Open Bodhi5. Go to View>Jobs to display the Jobs screen.

    Bodhi5 ~ View>Jobs

  2. This will open displaying the default job called: Everything. If this job is activated, Bodhi5 will download everything you have selected in Bodhi5 - it can not be edited.

    Bodhi5 ~ Everything Job

  3. Select File>Jobs>Insert to create a new job. A Jobs1 tab will be created. At the bottom of this tab is another 5 tabs which represent the folders of data available in Bodhi5. Each tab contains the Exchanges available in that folder. For example to select the Australian Dollar Foreign Exchange you would click the Forex tab.

    Bodhi5 ~ File>Jobs>Insert

  4. Select the Finance tab then tick the following boxes:
    FASXEQ: Australian Securities Exchange Equity
    FASXIN: Australian Securities Exchange Indice

  5. Go to File>Jobs>Rename, enter ASX in the box provided and click the OK button. The job will now be renamed to ASX.

    Bodhi5 ~ Rename the Job

  6. Exit the Jobs screen by clicking on the x button. A drop-down box will have appeared above the Catchup button.

    Bodhi5 ~ Jobs

  7. Select ASX from the drop-down box then click the Catchup button. Bodhi5 will now download the ASX data and export the Equities and Indexes to your charting software.

Please Note: Whilst you have the ASX job selected in the drop-down box nothing else will download. You will need to switch it to the Everything job to do a complete Catchup.

Creating a Job for products based on the time they are available to download
Traders that download multiple Exchanges from around the World can create jobs based on the time the data is available for download. This way they can download only the relevant data available at that time.

In this example we are going to create two Jobs. One to download data available by 10:30am each day and the other to download data available by 8:30pm each day.
  1. Open Bodhi5. Go to View>Jobs to display the Jobs screen.

    Bodhi5 ~ View>Jobs

Creating a Daily and Weekly Job
The Bodhi5 data service is so extensive that it includes derivative data with most Exchanges. For the Australian Securities Exchange this includes thousands of Options and Warrants. Exporting this much data to charting software can take considerable time and although it may be needed when scanning the market for investment opportunities it is probably not detrimental to update it on a daily basis.

In this example we are going to create two Jobs. The Daily job will include the ASX Equity and Indexes and the Weekly job will include the ASX Options. We can then set our Bodhi5 to the Daily job for normal downloading and once a week (i.e. weekend) switch it to the Weekly job to bring the ASX Options data up-to-date.

    Bodhi5 ~ File>Jobs>Insert

  4. Select the Finance tab then tick the following boxes:
    FASXEQ: Australian Securities Exchange Equity
    FASXIN: Australian Securities Exchange Indice

    Bodhi5 ~ Daily Job

  5. Go to File>Jobs>Rename, enter Daily in the box provided and click the OK button. The job will now be renamed to Daily.

    Bodhi5~ Daily Job

Please Note: Whilst you have the Daily job selected in the drop-down box nothing else will download. To update the ASX Options once a week, switch to the Weekly job and do a Catchup. You will need to switch it to the Everything job to do a complete Catchup.
