| Copying Personal Indicators |
|
These instructions will take you through copying your personal indicators from one installation of BodhiGold (or Bodhi Freeway) to another installation. We will be using the MetaStock format as an example but these can be applied to any of the formats BodhiGold is compatible with.
- If you use the Default Distribution (data folders) for Metastock then the personal indexes will update to a C:\My Databases\Metastock\Asx\!0 directory. All versions of Bodhi (BodhiGold/Freeway) update the Personal Indexes here. Rename the folder c:\My Databases\Metastock\Asx\!0 to c:\My Databases\Metastock\Asx\!0backup using Windows® File Explorer.
- Copy the .lst files from your original installation (ie. For Bodhi 2 Users - c:\Program Files\Infosoft\Bodhi2\User) into your c:\Program Files\Infosoft\Bodhi Gold\User folder.
- Start BodhiGold and click on the Configure button.
- Click on the + next to Australia then the + next to Australian Stock Exchange then click Equity.
- Select Tick>Load from the drop-down menu. Click the file name (eg. CFD) to load.
- The symbols contained in this tick list will now be ticked (on screen). Click Tick then Save. Select the tick list (ie. CFD) from the drop-down box and put a tick in Create Custom Index, click the x button to exit the screen.
Enter any weighting to the symbols in your indicator. If you didn't use any weightings, simply exit (x) this screen. If you can't remember the weighting's you used, you will need to check the weighting's in your previous installation (Tick>Save>Create Custom Index).
- The new code will not appear in the list until Catchup is run. Run Catchup and this will load one day of data into a new code (eg. !CI00W). Repeat steps 5 & 6 for each ticked list you want to create an index for.
- Once all new codes exist they will not match the previous codes until they are renamed. Highlight one code at a time, click Edit>Rename, type in the new code (so it matches the existing ones). That is, the new code may be !CI00W but the previous code in your other installation was !CI01W, rename it to the old code.
- Once they are all renamed, delete the c:\My Databases\Metastock\Asx\!0 folder (which only contains one day of data). Then rename the c:\My Databases\Metastock\Asx\!0backup back to c:\My Databases\Metastock\Asx\!0.
- Once you have done this View>Values for each new index code (in BodhiGold) and you should see the data for it. When Catchup next runs it should append the data correctly.
