Run-time error 9

Solution: This error is generally due to you having a gap in your data. As a result of this error we have upgraded the BodhiGold software to include a mechanism that interrogates the data and records the missing dates in the report file. Once you know the earliest date of data that is missing you can simply reload the data using BodhiGold.

Fixing this error requires 3 processes:
  • Upgrading BodhiGold to version 4.0.1.73 or later [more]
Note: Please read the entire version number not just the last 2 digits, for example: 4.1.1.46 is a later version than 4.0.1.73.
  • Finding the first missing date [more]
  • Reloading the missing data [more]
    Upgrading BodhiGold:
  1. Open BodhiGold.
  2. From the menu choose Help>Upgrade. This will open the Rover software.
    1. If you don't have Rover installed, please download it from this link.
    2. Once downloaded, install it on your computer.
  3. Connect to the Internet then, click the Start button.
    1. If Rover has an error whilst downloading you may need to re-install BodhiGold. To download this software, email accounts for the link.
  4. When finished, exit Rover.
  5. To make sure your BodhiGold has upgraded, open the software and go to Help>About. The Freeway Version should be 4.0.1.73 or later.
Note: Please read the entire version number not just the last 2 digits, for example: 4.1.1.46 is a later version than 4.0.1.73.
    Finding the first missing date:
Once you've upgraded BodhiGold to that latest version you can find the dates that are missing in your file/s. In this example we will assume that BHP trading on the ASX is the error 9 file:
  1. Open BodhiGold.
  2. Click on the Configure button.
  3. Click on the + next to Australia and the + next to Australian Stock Exchange then click Equity.
  4. Locate BHP in the list and click on it (so it is highlighted).
  5. From the menu, choose View>Values.
  6. A table will appear showing the data values for BHP. Double-click on the first date.
  7. This opens an editing window which interrogates your data and enters the missing dates into your report log.

  8. You can now exit (x) this screen and all other screens until you get to the main menu (the one that has the Catchup button).
  9. To open the report log, choose View>Reports from the menu.
  10. Use the scroll-bar on the right to scroll down to the bottom of this file. The last few lines will show that BodhiGold has inserted some records.

  11. Take note of the first date it inserted records then close the report log (x). You now need to reload the data from this date forward. If the date in question is older than 6-months you will need to get an updated historical data disk as you can only download 6-months of data from the BodhiGold servers.
    Reloading the missing data:
  1. From wihin BodhiGold, click the Configure button.
  2. Right-click over the word Selection (above Finance tab). The DatesForm will appear.
  3. Change the Import and Export dates back (to match the date of the first inserted record).

  4. Exit (x) the DatesForm and answer Yes to the Confirm reset date for the active products message.
  5. Exit the Module Manager window.
  6. Connect to the Internet then click the Catchup button and answer No to the adjust data message.
