 Configure Bodhi 5 for GTE Charting or Toolbox

GTE Charting and Toolbox are programs owned by Guppytraders-Essentials Pty Ltd. They use data from BodhiGold's MetaStock format.

    Installing GTE Software
  1. After downloading the GTE Software, execute the GTE_Download.exe file or the GTE_Toolbox.exe file.
  2. Click Yes to start installing the GTE Software.
  3. Click Next at the Welcome screen.
  4. Read the License Agreement, tick the Yes box.
  5. Click Next to install it to the default directory (c:\Program Files\GTE\GTE Charting or c:\Program Files\GTE\GTE Toolbox)
  6. Click Next to add a GTE Charting or GTE Toolbox shortcut folder.
  7. Put a tick in Yes, Launch the Program File box, then click Finish.
  8. Guppytraders Essential Charting or Toolbox will now open.

    Configuring BodhiGold to use the MetaStock data format.
  1. Install Bodhi5Gold using the  installation instructions .
  2. Once installed, launch BodhiGold. If this didn't happen automatically when you finished installation click the BodhiGold icon on your desktop.
  3. A Confirm box will have appeared asking you to connect to the Internet to finish the installation. This process requires downloading files from the Internet. Make sure you are connected to the Internet then click the Yes button.

    If a box appears asking you to use previous Bodhi settings, then refer to the tutorial:  Configure Bodhi 5 using my Bodhi settings .
  4. A box will appear asking you to choose your area. Select your country or nearest country and exit the box using the [x] button.

  5. Now select your nearest city then exit using the [x] button.

  6. Select GTE Charting and any other formats you require from the list of analysis software. Once your selections are made, connect to the Internet then click the [x] button.
  7. BodhiGold will start downloading the files you need to finish your configuration. You will need to be connected to the Internet for this procedure.

    Click the OK button when completed. This will close BodhiGold.

  8. Start BodhiGold using the icon on the desktop.
  9. If you have signed up for the 32-day trial, click the No button on the Confirm box. The software will give you access to the Exchange data nearest your location for the next 32 days. If you requested access to other Exchange data you will need to  register BodhiGold  for your trial period.
    The Confirm registration box will appear each time you open BodhiGold (until it is registered).

    If you are a subscriber and you are installing this software during Australian business hours, click Yes to register BodhiGold and telephone: +61 (07) 3821 5177 to get your registration details. Otherwise, click No to register BodhiGold later and email the code displayed in this box (on line 3 of this message) to  accounts@justdata.com.au , they will email you back your registration code.

  10. If you clicked Yes, the Bodhi 5 Registration box will appear. Connect to the Internet then enter the registration code (given to you by JustData) into the box then click OK.

    Configure GTE to read BodhiGold MetaStock directories
  1. To configure GTE you need to know whether the MetaStock format you are using is configured to 255 files per directory or 2000 files per directory (BodhiGold uses 2000 files). GTE's default setting is 255 files per directory. To ensure GTE has access to all your data please follow these directions:
    1. Open GTE Charting or GTE Toolbox.
    2. Go to File>Preferences.
    3. Click on the Grid/Font/Decimals/Spacing tab.
    4. Put a tick in the Use MSFL651 Data Access box.
    5. Click the Save button.

  2. Click on File>Open Chart then select a chart type (eg. Bar Chart).

    The GTE Data File Manager window opens.

  3. Click on MetaStock files.
    Under Folders navigate to your data directory/s.
    1. Start by double-clicking on the c:\
    2. Then double-click on Data.
    3. Then double-click on MetaStock.
    4. Double-click on one exchange you would use most often (eg. ASX0).
    5. To the right of the Folders window click on the Set as the Default Folder button.
    6. Click OK.

      Next time you open GTE the Data File Manager window will display your chosen exchange.

    7. Double-click on the exchange. The company codes and names will be displayed on the right screen (if you have loaded Historical data).

    8. Double-click on a symbol under Available Data files or enter the symbol in the Find box and click Open Security.
