| Fully Adjusted Data |
|
| Bodhi Freeway handles all daily data adjustments. Adjustments include: Share Splits, Stock Consolidations, Renounceable and Non-Renounceable Issues, Bonus Issues and Capital Returns. It also adds any fundamental information for new issues and updates fundamental information for current symbols. |
| Create your own ASCII format |
|
Bodhi Freeway gives you the ability to create your own text files using the data fields populated by the software. You are no longer limited to only trade information (Open, High, Low, Close, Volume and Open Interest).
You can configure this feature by right-clicking on the AsciiCsv format found on the Native tab in the Module Manager screen (from the Main menu, click the Configure button). |
| Back-up Server |
|
Bodhi Freeway 3 has a back-up server. If our primary server experiences problems you can now change to our secondary server to guarantee that you receive your data. You can select this feature from the Connect tab in the Edit>Options menu on the main screen.
 |
| Filter on 2 levels of GICS Sectors |
|
We have added the first two levels of GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Sectors to the filtering mechanism in Bodhi Freeway. Previous versions have only been able to filter on the MSCI (Morgan Stanley) Sectors. You can select this feature from the Profile Manager screen (Right-click on Distribution and select the Manager button). Select the directory then right-click over the Sector box in the Criteria section. Choose which sector you require then double-click in the box and select an industry.
 |
| Use settle prices instead of Close prices |
|
London Stock Exchange Equities are categorised into 4 groups. These are: SETS (Stock Exchange Electronic Trading Service), SEAQ (Stock Exchange Automated Quotations), SEATS Plus and AIM (Alternative Investment Market).
SETS, commonly known as the Orderbook, uses a Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) as its close. Where as SEAQ, SEATS and AIM securities closing prices are the best bid, offer and mid price calculated from market maker quotes at the end of the mandatory quote period.
By choosing the 'Replace Close with Settle' option you are ensuring that your close price matches that of the London Stock Exchange.
 |
| Pad Data for Open or Week days |
|
Previous versions of Bodhi Freeway have only let you choose between no padding or all padding. If you choose to pad your data in Bodhi Freeway you now have the option to choose between Open and Week Days. Open Days means the padding will only occur where the Exchange is open. For example, no padding will result on Easter Friday & Monday as the Exchange is closed at that time. Week Days will pad for all days between Monday & Friday, regardless of whether the Exchange is Open or Closed.
 |
| Custom Indexes now include adjustments |
|
Bodhi Freeway has been programmed to now include adjustments in the Custom Indices.
Please Note: Adjustments will only occur in your Custom Indices where the reconstruction has been published on the same day that it has happened. No back adjusting will occur if the adjustment factor is published late.
 |
| Add Prefix and Suffix Codes |
|
You can now add a prefix and/or suffix to the data you download with Bodhi Freeway. This option is configurable for every format, however some formats (for example: EzyChart) only support 8 bit codes.
In the example to the left, I have set a Prefix for the Australian and London Stock Exchange symbols and a Suffix for the New York Consolidated Exchange symbols. The code for BHP Billiton (traded on the ASX) would change from BHP to AXBHP and the same equity traded on the LSE would change from BLT to LSBLT. The symbol for BHP Billiton traded on the New York Consolidated Exchange would change from BBL to BBLCnsl.
 |
| Added format - Market Analyst |
|
An extra format has been added to the latest release of Bodhi Freeway. The Market Analyst II format is a native format created by Market Analyst Software for use with technical analysis software such as Market Analyst 3 Investor and Professional, Gann Analyst and Guppytraders Essentials Charting Pack.
Previous users of this software have configured Bodhi Freeway for the MetaStock format. Although this format works seamlessly the native format is supposedly faster by comparison.
 |
| HTP and FTP Downloads |
|
Previous versions of Bodhi Freeway could only download using FTP (File Transfer Protocol). This caused some problems with clients who had installed firewalls or virus protecting software and hadn't configured them to allow downloads from our servers. We have now added a HTP download method (set as default) which should correct these issues.
 |
| Bodhi Freeway Search Facility |
|
As Bodhi Freeway now supplies so much data, with more to be added soon, it has made it necessary to add a search engine to help you locate the securities you are looking for.
This search facility allows you to search for either a symbol (BHP); or part of a name (BILLIT); or sector (GICS or MSCI). The results of each search contain the Symbol, Name, Source and Market Group.
|
| Choose dollars or cents for each format |
|
| Bodhi Freeway allows you to export your data in either dollars or cents. Previous versions of Bodhi Freeway only allowed you to select one or the other and this selection was valid for every directory and format. Bodhi Freeway now permits you to choose dollars or cents at the directory level, thus allowing you to have your MetaStock directories set to dollars whilst your EzyChart directories are set to cents. |
| Individual Trades, Quotes and Issues information |
|
Bodhi Freeway now has its own data format, BodhiOne™. This format is superior to any other formats currently available as it contains quote and issue information as well as trades.
All other data formats currently supported in Bodhi Freeway only contain trade information.
- Trade information includes:
- Open, High, Low, Close, Volume, Gross and Open Interest (where available). Gross is the volume of trades multiplied by the price paid for each trade.
- Quote information includes:
- The highest bid for the day and how many bids exist at that price and the Lowest Ask for the day and how many asks exist at that price.
- Issue information includes:
- Fundamental information.

| Advance/Decline Builder |
|
Bodhi Freeway has a built-in Advance/Decline builder. This builder allows you to specify the securities you wish to track and then save them as an Advance/Decline Line and Ratio.
Advance is the total number of securities that today's close price is higher than yesterday's close price.
Decline is the total number of securities that today's close price is lower than yesterday's close price.
Advance/Decline Line
The Advance/Decline Line is calculated by subtracting the amount of Advanced securities (in your list) by the amount of Declined securities (in your list). The Advance/Decline line begins calculating from 100 and each day's results are compared to the previous day.
Example: This example shows how the value for the close price would be calculated for an Advance/Decline line consisting of 6 Bank securities.

Advance/Decline Ratio
The Advance/Decline Ratio is calculated using this algorythm: ((A^2+D)/(D^2+A))^Log(2)/Log(A+D) where: A = Advances and D = Declines A maximum value of 2 and minimum value of 0.5 is set to control any fluctuations in your chart.
Example: This example shows how the value for the close price would be calculated for an Advance/Decline ratio consisting of 6 Bank securities.

| Private Index Builder |
|
Bodhi Freeway has a built-in private index builder. This index builder allows you to specify the securities you wish to track and then save them as an index. You can also choose to weight your securities by entering numbers into the Weight column. If you are making an index from the securities you own you could weight them according to the volume or total price they hold in your portfolio. Bodhi Freeway creates the index by averaging the prices (open, high, low, close and volume) of your group of securities.
Formulae: Price x Weight (of all securities selected) divided by the total number of Weight.
Example: This example shows how the value for the close price would be calculated for an Index consisting of 6 Bank securities. In this example I'm using percentages for weighting.

This index is treated like any other security that comes directly from the Stock Exchange.
Private indices can be used as a valuable indication of your personal trading portfolio. Once created you can use simple moving average techniques (included in your charting software) to see if your portfolio is in an up or down trend. You can compare your index against other Exchange indices created from Market Capitalisation as opposed to price volatility. You can create indices based on a watch list of securities or break down the Exchange industry sectors to smaller nominations.

| The Bodhi Monitor |
|
This software monitors the market on a daily basis. Information like new issues, delisted stocks, stock reconstructions and changes to fundamental values can all be viewed from within the monitor. Although this information has already been adjusted/applied to your database, it is still beneficial to know what has occurred in the various markets you are following.
- The Compared Tab
- The Compared tab displays statistical information on the market group (i.e. ASX Equity) you have selected. This screen consists of the Symbol for the security, the price the security closed at and the price change compared to yesterday. You also have the ability to compare the Change price with previous dates.
- The Included Tab
- The Included tab displays any new issues, symbol changes and security reconstructions. This screen displays the symbol (alias), the Stock Exchange source and the Industry Sector.
- The Updated Tab
- The Updated tab displays information that has been updated on individual securities. This information can consist of name changes, the amount of shares they have on issue, the industry sector they belong to, their DPS (Dividends per share) or their EPS (Earnings Per Share).
- The Modified Tab
- The Modified tab displays information on any share splits, stock consolidations, renounceable or non-renounceable issues, bonus issues and return of capital. Information listed includes, the symbol, date the event took place, the factor and reason. These are all applied automatically by Bodhi Freeway to your database/s.
- The Delisted Tab
- The Delisted tab displays any securities that have been delisted/expired from the Exchanges.
