Australian Made & Support for Overseas Markets

Insight Trader is developed and supported entirely within Australia and has been specifically customised to facilitate very fast and efficient analysis of Australian markets and overseas stockmarkets. Insight Trader has been commercially available for over 11 years and has been continuously and rapidly enhanced during that period.

Support Day and Evening

Support can be obtained on business days between 9am and 5pm or in the evening between 7:30 and 8:30 pm. You do not need to ring the USA or wait for several days for an overloaded help desk to ring you back or possibly not ring you back at all. Also, User Groups that help you get the most out of your software have been operating in some major capital cities for up to 6 years.

Both Live and End-of-Day Charting

The one package will do both live and end of day charting. You can chart a century of data for the All Ords or Dow and on the same screen have a tick chart, 1-minute bar chart, 5-minute candlestick and course of sales point and figure chart, all updating simultaneously in real time.

Both Technical and Fundamental Analysis

Get the best of both worlds. Some people are pure fundamentalists while others swear that only technical analysis should be used. We believe that each school of thought has a lot to offer and so we give you tools to combine the best of both technical and fundamental analysis.

Maintains both an adjusted and Unadjusted Database

Insight Trader maintains both an adjusted and an unadjusted file for every security that is subject to reconstructions/issues etc. The adjusted file is used for charting, analysis and systems testing. The unadjusted file allows for portfolio valuation at any time in the past. You never lose the original price and volume information, allowing easy correction of any previously made adjustments.

Analyse your Database according to ASX Industry Subsectors

To allow rapid analysis of the Australian sharemarket Insight Trader maintains an internal database of all the companies in each individual subsector of the ASX. This allows you to confine your attention to specific interest sectors of the market - a process that will greatly enhance the efficiency of your analysis.

See a chart of every company on the ASX in under 1½ hrs

The autorun facility allows you to set the software to automatically bring up a chart of every company on the ASX for your perusal – each for a preset time interval. You can press a key to add any chart you like to a short list for later more detailed investigation. In fact this shortlist itself can be autorun at a later time. With a little practice you can examine a chart of every company on the board in under 1½ hours. To achieve the same with other packages may take several days.

Portfolio Manager

Insight Trader is not just a technical and fundamental analysis package. It also allows you to keep track of your purchases, sales, dividends and to value your portfolios at any time in the past or present. Because Insight Trader maintains an adjusted database and also an unadjusted database of original price and volume information that portfolio valuation for any date in the past is possible.

System Tester

The system tester allows you to search your database for securities satisfying criteria that you have specified. These criteria can be either technical or fundamental or a combination of both. You can also use the System Tester to assess the profitability of systems consisting of sets of buy/sell criteria by running such systems over historical data for any specific security.

Specialised Point and Figure Charting

Experts maintain that it is only Insight Trader that constructs Point and Figure charts properly. Moreover, exclusive Point and Figure features include automatic box sizing and last price indication. Apart from the standard method of calculating Point and Figure on high/low for a given period (or course of sales on live tick charts) Insight Trader can draw the charts on the basis of Close, Relative Strength Close, Rebased Close, Rebased Relative Strength Close, High, Low or Open.

Other chart types that can be selected are line charts, scatter diagrams, bar charts, candlesticks, equivolume, equicandle, and Gann swing charts.

Wide Range of Powerful Analyses

You can undertake Technical Analysis, Fundamental Analysis, Sector Analysis, Relative Strength Analysis, or Top Down Analysis to help improve your market performance.

Up to 500 active charts displayed simultaneously on screen

You can display up to 500 active charts simultaneously on the screen. This allows you to view all the charts in your portfolio at the one time, or to display all the sub indices of the ASX, or all companies in one or more sectors simultaneously on the one screen. The charts can then be rapidly and individually maximised in sequence to allow detailed full screen viewing of each in turn.

You can use a reference list of security codes to automatically fill the screen with tiled charts of all companies on the list up to the maximum of 500 charts simultaneously on the screen.
